One of the advantages of the First B2B service over other Cloud Based Integration Services is the flexibility of the toolset. This flexibility, brought about because our toolset was developed from the ground up specifically to integrate business messages and not just EDI or Electronic Invoices, allows First B2B to Develop innovative solutions to complex problems such as Supply Chain Integration.
Because of this, European Business Review asked us to pen an article on complex supply chain integration and the benefits thereof.
The article written for European Business Review shows just how such integrations can be achieved and provide a return on Investment for the customer and their trading partners. If you analyze the actual numbers of documents being exchanged it becomes even more significant. The implementation for our client now processes 100,000 business documents per month. To put that in to context, the only alternative would be to force trading partners to use either a bespoke system or the ERP system of our client, this integration has saved a minimum of 138 person days per month of manual data entry (assuming each document takes 2 minutes to enter on the system), if the cost of each person (including taxes and other employment costs) is £20,000 per annum, this saves the trading community over £120,000 per annum and that is before the other operational and ancillary savings. Payback for the project within one year.
From our point of view the other interesting thing is that the customer, as a multi-national company, already had a world wide agreement with the largest player in the electronic messaging industry, but they chose First B2B Limited instead. A vote of confidence for which I thank them and hope we have repaid to them by the system and service we offer.
